Gross pay before tax and deductions. Enter fewer weeks to account for unpaid time off.
Comparing an hourly job to a salaried one, or just want to know what your wage adds up to over a year? This calculator converts an hourly rate into weekly, monthly and annual pay based on how many hours and weeks you work.
Adjust the weeks per year to account for unpaid time off, and you'll get a realistic picture rather than a best-case figure.
How the conversion works
Annual salary = hourly rate × hours per week × weeks worked per year. A standard full-time year is often taken as 40 hours × 52 weeks = 2,080 hours.
If you take unpaid leave, reduce the weeks worked. Remember the result is gross pay — before income tax, benefits and other deductions.
Frequently asked questions
▶How do I convert hourly pay to a yearly salary?
Multiply your hourly rate by the hours you work per week, then by the number of weeks you work per year. For $25/hour full-time that's 25 × 40 × 52 = $52,000.
▶Is the result before or after tax?
It's gross pay, before income tax and deductions. Your take-home pay will be lower depending on your tax situation.
