Work out the sale price and how much you save from a percentage discount.
Last reviewed July 1, 2026
Spotted a '30% off' tag and want the real price fast? This discount calculator turns an original price and a percentage off into the final sale price and the exact amount you save — no mental maths required.
It's handy while shopping the sales, comparing deals, or checking that a 'bargain' is as good as it looks.
How to calculate a discount
Multiply the original price by the discount percentage divided by 100 to get the saving, then subtract it from the price. For example, 30% off $120 is $36 saved, leaving $84 to pay.
Stacked discounts don't add up the way they seem: 20% off then a further 10% off isn't 30% off — the second discount applies to the already-reduced price.

▶How do I calculate the sale price?
Take the original price, subtract the discount amount (price × percent ÷ 100), and you have the sale price. This calculator does both steps instantly.
